Instant Bank Payment (IBP) in GoCardless is a service that speeds up the time it takes for payments to be processed. This is very useful for one off payments or payments you need quickly.
Unfortunately, IBP is not supported by all banks at this point in time, so we want to give you better control over whether your club uses IBP to process one off payments or not.
We have added the ability for you to turn off IBP payments for your club should you decide this is best for you. This can be for an individual member(s) or for your whole organisation.
If you decide not to use IBP for one off payments then the traditional Direct Debit payments will be automatically used.
(Please note the IBP are not available on recurring subscriptions / payment plans in Coacha)
IBP controls for members
Occasionally, an individual member may experience problems paying with IBP because of the bank that they use (please note that this is not an error in Coacha). If this is the case you can turn off IBP for that individual member.
NOTE: You may need to re-issue a payment request if the member is struggling to pay once you have altered the IBP settings. Be sure to void the previous request before sending a new one.
To find the individual IBP control, simply head to the members profile you would like to adjust.
Go to their 'Payments' Tab
Here you will see an IBP control pane which will allow you to toggle on or off IBP for this individual member. Be sure to hit 'Save' once you have made your settings change.
IBP controls for the entire club.
If you mainly take monthly subscriptions and are happy with the direct debit model, you can turn off IBP completely for all of your members .
This option can be found in MONEY - SETTINGS
Under the GoCardless section you will see the option to enable or disable IBP at a club level.
NOTE: When turning off or on IBP at a club level, you may affect outstanding, not yet set up payments that are present. This is dependant on the status of the payment. But in most cases no further action is required. If a payment is not able to be paid after making the change, please void the previous payment then re-issue the payment request.
