Coacha’s email broadcasting system was designed with the NSPCC CPSU guidelines in mind to ensure young members are always communicated to safely and appropriately.
Coacha’s Broadcast rules are as follows:
- Member is under 13: The communication goes directly to the NOK (unless ticked otherwise)
- Member is between 13 & 18: The communication goes directly to the NOK (unless ticked otherwise)
- Member is over 18: The communication goes directly to the member (unless ticked otherwise)
Coacha also will not allow you to contact anyone under the age of 18 directly unless there are at least 5 people in the same communication. This is all gold standard NSPCC CPSU best practice.
There may be instances where parents would like clubs to contact children directly and we allow for that.
In order for your emails to be delivered to children, the following tick box on each relevant member’s profile must be filled to show that you have obtained consent to email from the member’s parent or guardian.
Parents and guardians will also be copied in on any emails that you send to athletes under the age of 16.
Without showing that you have obtained the proper consent for members under the age of 18, your messages will not be delivered. Details of this with an explanation as to why the email was not delivered will be shown in the broadcasts’ ‘stats’.
You can also set an independent moderator in ‘Club Settings’ (accessible from the black bar at the top of the screen). Input an email address here for your safeguarding officer and they’ll be copied in on every broadcast to a minor.
