Twilio is now integrated with Coacha, giving you greater control and flexibility over your SMS broadcasts than ever before.
Before you can send SMS broadcasts through Twilio in Coacha, you will need to create and connect your Twilio account.
Start from within Coacha
- Log in to your Coacha account.
- Go to Broadcasts > SMS Integration.
- Under Helpful Resources, click Create a Twilio Account to start the process.
Create Your Twilio Account
You will now be taken to Twilio to set up your account. This process includes identity verification, which requires you to provide a photo of a government-issued ID (for example, a driving licence or passport).
You can use your phone or a computer’s webcam to capture the image. Twilio will then record a short verification video of your face, asking you to look straight ahead and then turn your head to the left and right to confirm your identity.
- Complete the sign-up form with your details.
- Twilio will send a verification code to your email address. Enter this code to continue.
- Enter your mobile phone number
- Enter the SMS verification code that Twilio sends to your phone.
- Download your failsafe code. This allows you to access your account if you lose your verification device.
- When prompted to choose a plan, select Pay as You Go.

Complete the onboarding questions by selecting the answers that best reflect your club’s details; highlighted below are the answers we would recommend for the form.
a. Which best describes you: We recommend you select Business, non-profit or self employed as appropriate.
b. What kind of business: We recommend you select Direct Business.
c. How would you describe your role: We recommend you select Business owner or director.
d. How do you want to build with Twilio: We recommend you select With 3rd part integration.
e. What do you want to build with Twilio: We recommend you select Notifications
f. Which channel are you interested in: We recommend you select SMS
Tip: Avoid choosing the Trial Account option. If you do, you will need to upgrade before you can use Twilio with Coacha.
(If Needed) Upgrade Your Twilio Account
If you have created a Trial Account, you will need to upgrade it before completing the integration.
- Log into your Twilio Dashboard.
- Click Upgrade near the top of the screen.
- Follow the four-step upgrade process
- Create a Customer Profile using a government-issued ID.
- Scan the QR code or select Send Email to continue on your mobile device.
- Follow the instructions to upload your ID and complete verification.
Connect Twilio to Coacha
- Return to Coacha > Broadcasts > SMS Integration.
- Click Twilio Connect App.
- Log into your Twilio account if prompted.
- Select the Twilio account that you wish to connect.
- Click Approve Access.
- You will be redirected back to Coacha and see a confirmation message showing that your account is connected.
- You can also change your Sender Name here if required.
Your Twilio account is successfully connected. You are ready to reach your members and their Next of Kin instantly through SMS broadcasts!
